Body image. Love yourself!

5 Jul 2011

For a girl, the image is very important, and i`m sure for you too. But its also important to love what you are, and to be thankful for what you have. Its important for a girl to be confident in her possibilities, because only so, she will know how to avoid each obstacle.
Body image and self-esteem are tied together since body image can affect how you feel about your whole self. When you put yourself down about how you look, it can lead to negative feelings about yourself in general. Poor self-esteem can also lead to eating disorders that can put your health in danger.

If you start to have negative thoughts about your body and the way you look, think about all of the traits that make you special and unique. Look at your whole self — body and mind — in a positive way and write down what you see. Need a hand getting started? Focus on the good things in your life.

Many of you of average weight think they are overweight and are not satisfied with their bodies. Having extreme weight concerns — and acting on those concerns — can harm girls' social, physical, and emotional growth. Actions such as skipping meals or taking diet pills can lead to poor nutrition and difficulty learning. For some, extreme efforts to lose weight can lead to eating disorders such as anorexia or bulimia. For others, the pressure to bethin can actually lead to binge eating disorder: overeating that is followed by extreme guilt. What's more, girls are more likely to further risk their health by trying to lose weight in unhealthy ways, such as smoking.

 Remember and follow this steps:

* You are beautiful!
* You are a girl with a perspective!
*
Real beauty comes from inside!
* Make sure you understand that weight gain is a normal part of development, especially during puberty.
* Avoid negative statements about food, weight, and body size and shape.
* Allow making decisions about food, while making sure that plenty of healthy and nutritious meals and snacks are available.
* Compliment yourself on your efforts, talents, accomplishments, and personal values.
* Restrict television viewing, or discuss with your parents the media images you see.
* Keep the communication lines with your friends and parents.
*Before you go to
bed at night, name three things you did that day that made you happy. By focusing on the positive aspects of your life you can feel more positive about yourself!
*Read some quotes, they will always show you the good size of your life and they will encourage you;)

I hope you will feel better and gain the needed confidence in yourself:)
