Tips for a test day.

24 Oct 2011

Eat and drink wisely on the morning or day of the test. Make sure you don't go into the test hungry. Hunger can interfere with your concentration, and so can the noise of a rumbling stomach. Don't create an unnecessary and unfortunate distraction!

Arrive early to the classroom. Give yourself time to relax and reflect for several minutes before the test begins.

Look over the entire test as soon as you receive it. Take time to evaluate the test, in order to determine how much time you should spend on each section. Assign a time limit to each section. You can always go back if you finish early.

Pay close attention to directions. Read them twice, if possible. Don't make assumptions.

Tackle the easy questions first. Skip over any questions you're not sure about. Sometimes answers come clear to you later, after you take a second look at the question. (Sometimes, the answers even appear in the essay question or elsewhere!)
Every time you skip a question, be sure to mark it. How many times have you left an answer blank by accident? what a waste. Be sure to make a star beside questions if you skip them. Don't leave any blanks.

For defining terms, concentrate on themes and chapter titles. If you're facing a list of terms to define and you're unsure about a few, think back to major themes (usually found in chapter titles).
Stay positive! If you start to doubt yourself, you may go blank. Keep concentrating on your strengths.

All will be ok!!! Don't worry and prepare yourself the day before! Sleep, eat, don't stress yourself, learn, take notes and all will be okey ;)

Teen Friendship help , advice, tips. How to make friends

Hi, to all of you :) In this post i'll write some usefull tips for all of you, as friendship is so important nowadays...Each teen find him\herself in one of his\her friend's character. And that's normal i think...each of us need someone to rely one, someone who we an adress and wait for help (a blog is a friend too haha:D) ...See here some rules and tips, for yourself and generally speaking, to help and guide you...

1. Be Yourself

A lot of teens struggle not to lose their identity once they become part of a group of friends. Though who you are is always changing, especially during  the teenage years, some aspects of your personality will stay pretty much the same. Figure out what those things are and think hard about who you want to be, then present yourself honestly and genuinely to the people you hang around with.
However, you will always feel you've been true to yourself -- and that you haven't become somebody else's clone. ;)

2. Avoid Gossip

Friends don't spread rumors about other friends, remember this, even though its kinda difficult for us, girls :\ -- even within their own group. If you've heard something shocking about someone you're friends with, find a considerate way of asking them about it personally, because if you don't know your friend well, he\she can spoil you to another "friend"...:S
If you're not sure how to talk to them about it, seek the advice of one other trusted friend, but don't let the discussion turn into a free-for-all about everything you don't like about the person. You certainly wouldn't be happy if someone did that to you, so set a good example for others -- and for yourself.

3. Protect Your Friends

When a friend of yours is making not-so-great decisions -- whether it's about drugs, alcohol, studying or dating -- do your best to look out for them. This doesn't mean telling them what to do constantly, but you can offer gentle advice and guidance from time to time.
If you give advice in a caring way that shows you value your friend and respect their feelings and wishes, they're much more likely to pay attention. Chances are, what you think means a lot to them, and you can be a good influence.

5. Be Careful About Boyfriends and Girlfriends

It's a good rule of thumb to stray away from dating the exes of your friends. It's an even better rule of thumb to avoid dating the people your friends have crushes on -- or people who have turned down your friends for dates. Even if your friend gives you the go-ahead, wait a while to get involved with someone who broke their heart or betrayed their confidence, because a guy can come and go, but a friend is hard to achieve..agree?:)

Some tips on how to make friends:
First. always remember, that friendship is not about the  quantity, but about the quality. Don't think that you're a looser if you dont have many friends...why would you need them all?! Personally, i have 2 , the closest friends, and i'm proud of this...Looking at this formed groups, i'm kinda dissapointed, because most of girls are just fake and unreal...They all are friends just because of hanging out, partying...I'm not a such person:)
Show up. Whenever you have the chance to see other people, take it. Go to the party. Stop by someone’s desk. Make the effort.

Join a group. Being part of a natural group, where you have common interests and are brought together automatically, is the easiest way to make friends:(but who knows if real one) starting a new job, taking a class,  joining a school organisation, or moving to a new neighborhood are great opportunities to join a group. If those situations aren’t an option, make yourself a group, or just hang out and find yourself in some closest friends...its your choice.
Say nice things about other people. If you tell Jean that Pat is arrogant, unconsciously Jean associates that quality with you. On the other hand, if you say that Pat is hilarious, you’ll be linked to that quality.:| So, if you want to make an impression, than from the first moments or communication say smth good about that person...After that, its your turn to discover if you like\ dont like him\her and to continue or do speaking with him\her...:)

Make friends with friends-of-friends. “Triadic closure” is the term for the fact that people tend to befriend the friends of their friends. So friends-of-friends is an excellent place to start if you’re trying to expand your circle.:)

How to choose your hairstyle after your Face Shape& Body type

15 Oct 2011

When you choose your haircut it is useful to take into consideration also the face and body shape. In order to make the right choices think also how will look the haircut in relation with your whole body. Some haircuts are suited to a type of body. I'll post here something about your Facial Type & Body Type.

Facial Type:

ROUND SHAPED FACE

>A round face is wide with a round hairline and round chin line.
With a round shaped face, it is best to attempt to create the illusion of length. The key here is to provide balance.  You can do this by adding height on the top of the head, keeping the hair close at the sides. To complete the style with bangs brushed over to one side.

OVAL SHAPED FACE

The girl with the oval shape face can wear any style, lucky you. Exception, If one has a large nose, it is a must to wear fluffier bangs, and make sure never to center part the do.... If you have a very small nose, wear fewer shorter bangs.

OBLONG SHAPED FACE

The face that is long and narrow with hollow cheeks is oblong. It is important to make the face appear shorter, and wider. Styling the hair close to the top of the head, and adding fullness at the sides. Fringe bangs will add a softness to the face, and add the elusion of width to the face.

SQUARE SHAPED FACE

A square shaped face is wide with a square shaped hairline and chin. The square lines are best softened by lifting the hair off the forehead, and having the hair come forward at the chin, and the temples.

DIAMOND SHAPED FACE

The face that is narrow at the forehead and chin, and wide through the cheekbones is diamond shaped. For this face shape,a bit of height on top, and fullness across the forehead. If you choose a longer hairstyle,Keep the height at the top, and fullness at across the forehead, with hair close to the head at the sides or behind the ears, can flair out below the chin. Keep the hair close at the cheekbones.

Body Type:
Skinny woman
Curls, moderate volume and medium haircuts are most suitable to those of you who have such body shapes. Asymmetrical haircuts are also recommended. Don’t choose an extra-volume hairdo and don’t tap your hair as your body will look disproportionate. Avoid long hair because you will emphasise the thinness of your body. Also, a short haircut will give you a masculine look.

Plump women with appetizing shapes
A medium haircut with a breton is suitable in your case. Stay away from short haircuts or those which give you no volume. Neither curly hair nor medium or high hairdos will be appropriate in your case.
Short women
Try medium and short haircuts and also high ones which will help you appear taller. Don’t cut your hair too short because your head will look smaller than it is. Neither long hair is an option. Also avoid knitted hairdos or school girl queues.
Tall and athletic women
If you are included in this category it means that you are a lucky person because you can approach a large amount of haircuts. Avoid the usual horse tail and try adopting a haircut which offers you more volume.

Try taking into consideration these tips and you’ll see that everyone will admire you for your look<3.

Autumb & Winter 2011 - Must stay healthy

The summer has  drawn to a close, and it’s now that many of us start a winter hibernation, staying at home much more, nursing steaming mugs of hot chocolate and hearty stews.:o While there’s certainly nothing wrong with doing that some of the time, health does start to suffer if it’s all we do. Here are a few ideas to make it easier to stay healthy over the winter months<33
 Eating well
When it’s cold outside, it’s tempting to fill up on stodgy foods to help our bodies keep us warm. It’s true that we need extra calories in cold weather as we burn more than usual.Up your fruit and vegetable intake rather than your intake of carbohydrates – not only are the calories lower, the vitamins are vital for warding off winter colds.Always eat brown bread, pasta and rice rather than the white versions – you’ll feel fuller for much longer.:D
Getting moving

Exercising outdoors when the sun’s shining is fun. When it’s snowing, it’s pretty much impossible. :\ Not everyone can afford a gym membership for winter exercise, but that’s no reason to become inactive. Get yourself an indoor exercise kit, starting with weights, a balance ball and a yoga mat. There are many good exercise books and DVDs on the market or just youtube that will show you how to use them.
 Something different
A good diet and a bit of exercise will keep our bodies healthy, but sometimes our minds need a little pampering, particularly as lack of sunlight at this time of year can be depressing. To get out of a winter rut, get out and do something you wouldn’t normally do. Things such as  going on a day trip somewhere new are all good ways to get out of the house and out of the habit of sitting on the sofa watching television every weekend.

Haha, winter sometimes means fun too...just laying in the snow, playing with your friends, in everything you can find something positive ;)
